Coach Stores Explained: Flagships, Boutiques and What to Expect
Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, according to Tapestry’s annual report. That total divides into 336 stores in North America and 637 in international markets. A second figure doing the rounds, about 1,299 stores, refers to all of Tapestry’s brands combined, not to Coach on its own. For the year ahead, Tapestry has reportedly indicated that around 50 net new Coach stores are planned for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them sited beyond North America. Across the network you will find flagship Coach House locations, ordinary full-price boutiques, department store concessions and Coach Outlet stores. Searching for a coach store can therefore throw up very different formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Working city by city, this guide reviews the best-documented locations and marks each place where a store’s current status still needs checking.

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue
Founded in New York in 1941, Coach keeps its most recognisable flagship in its home city. Opened in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was timed for the brand’s 75th anniversary. The store was reported to measure about 20,000 square feet across three floors, with a design developed with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. That address is not a permanent base, however, because Coach has reportedly taken a lease on about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House. David Yurman is reported to have taken a lease on the 685 Fifth Avenue space, with an opening expected in early 2029, while Coach’s proposed move is targeted for 2027. As it has not been confirmed whether https://coschoutlet.net/ the current store is still open on a given day, check Coach’s store locator before setting out specially. There is also a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards in the locator listings, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London: The Coach House on Regent Street
Launched in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House sits at 200–206 Regent Street. Studio Sofield also worked on the London store, lending it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. A Craftsmanship Bar dedicated to monogramming and personalisation was described in coverage at the time. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly require around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks in exotic skins, and a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag was also reported. One retail-district listing shows a much later page date, which has led some writers to state the wrong opening year. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry stated that the UK, alongside some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material market penetration, as a published transcript records. Before visiting, confirm which services are currently offered if you are planning a personalisation appointment.
Tokyo: The Ginza Flagship
Tokyo’s Ginza district houses Coach’s flagship in Japan. The store, updated in 2015, dates back to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. Coverage of the relaunch says that the studio CURIOSITY redesigned the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. Select Japanese stores reportedly are part of the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange, which makes Japan important for services too. Canvas pieces and outlet items are reportedly excluded, while the scheme welcomes gently worn all-leather retail bags. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so contact the store before bringing a bag along. As is true of every flagship in this guide, it pays to check opening hours and services shortly before you go.
Greater China: Hong Kong, Chongqing and a Dated Shanghai Record
Compared with New York or London, Coach’s large stores in Greater China are more patchily documented. A flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010, according to a record that is now no longer current. Nobody could verify its current status, which means the Shanghai store cannot be assumed to be open today. A global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing have also been reported as Coach stores. Dates of opening for those two stores were not verified either. Out of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, 637 are international, yet the annual report gives no city-by-city list. When planning a trip, rely on Coach’s local store locator rather than older press coverage.
Boutiques and Concessions in Britain
Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator shows full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf provide further London locations. The documented full-price store away from the capital is at the Bullring in Birmingham. Coach is also present in concessions at Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Never assume a local branch exists in cities such as Manchester or Edinburgh before checking, as no stores there were confirmed. The list above covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing for anyone browsing coach uk locations. For hours and services, the safest place is the store’s own page on Coach’s UK website.
Coach Outlet Locations
Coach’s store locator labels Coach Outlet stores as outlets, and they are part of Coach’s own network and are not run by independent discounters. They usually are found in outlet centres, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. Across Britain, Coach Outlet stores are confirmed at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. A store at York Designer Outlet has been reported but not confirmed, so confirm before travelling there. Outlet stock is partly made for the outlet channel, and the only share figure found, around 85%, goes back to 2014, so today’s mix remains unknown. Under the reported «One Coach» strategy, outlet assortments also bring in some full-price collection product, alongside earlier-season styles. Anyone planning a coach outlet trip should check current offers first, because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.
What to Expect Inside a Coach Store
Shoes, clothing and small leather goods sit alongside the current handbag range inside a full-price coach store, where the bags remain the main focus. In 2026, the recognisable bag families include the Tabby (introduced in 2019), the Brooklyn (first released in August 2024) and the Empire Carryall (released in February 2025). Treat these as market observations rather than an official price list: observed US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450. Select stores also take part in the (Re)Loved trade-in, which runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores. Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, reportedly covers both Coach and Coach Outlet, so one membership extends to both formats. A receipt from a Coach store provides useful proof of where a coach bag came from, not least because Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise. Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013, remains Creative Director in 2026 and leads the creative direction.
How to Plan a Visit
Wasted trips are easy to avoid with a little preparation, especially while the New York flagship is preparing for its planned move. As Coach’s store locator separates full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations, begin with the version for the country you are visiting. If you plan a trade-in, confirm that the specific store participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, ask ahead of time whether the service is running. On 1 January 2021, tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended, so visitors to Britain will find no VAT refund to plan around. Save every receipt, because it shows where a bag was bought if questions arise later. Deals change often, so check current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre.
- On the day you set out, open the store locator.
- Check trade-in participation and eligibility.
- Book ahead for personalisation services.
- Hold on to receipts for every purchase.
